Irate residents of Kipipiri barricaded roads and uprooted violently a police signpost following the mysterious escape of three murder suspects from a police station in the area.
Area Police did not even use tear gas to disperse the violent residents who destroyed public property including a police sign post. Whereas in Nyanza any slight provocation is met with extreme force, the Police in Central and Mt Kenya seem to be under street orders to treat those breaking the law to sweet melodies.
Police and Jubilee leadership have asked CORD anti-IEBC supporters to follow the law (which they do) but how about these Nyandarua residents? does the law apply to them? these people knew a constitution exists but still took to the streets to dramatize their outrage. These people didn’t even notify the police. They just poured to the highway.
The demonstration in Nyandarua brought businesses to a standstill. You can see they’ve blocked a national highway. So do we expect to see their bishops parading themselves to condemn it? How about the Mt. Kenya politicians?
Powerless people everywhere must never lose the right to protest.
