The details pittying the divorce of former standard media chief executive Sam Shollei , and Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Boss Shollei have surfaced.
The bitter divorce between the two was sealed on January 8 by Milimani Commercial Courts Chief Magistrate, who authorized the divorce, describing the marriage as ‘irretrievably broken down’ as he annulled it on ‘grounds of cruelty’.
According to court documents referenced by Standard-owned publication, The Nairobian, the divorce was initiated by Sam Shollei on September 6, 2019, who told the court the couple had been living apart for four years.Boss did not appear in court to file a defence and the divorce was approved within four months of the papers being filed.
Sam is said to have reached a breaking point when Boss allegedly kicked out his 90-year old mother from their rural home, forcing him to hurriedly construct a separate home for his mother.
The report further claimed that Sam supported Boss after she lost her job at the Judiciary and financed her campaigns for the woman rep seat in 2017.
The drama between the Shollei divorce took a fresh twist when Sam Shollei got engaged to Faith Ronoh who hails from Chepkorio, Elgeyo Marakwet days after the divorce was confirmed.The couple had their ‘koito’ (traditional engagement ceremony) on Friday, January 10, 2020.
