Is Nation Media Group Expecting Nairobians To Believe Their Shallow Anti-Sonko Smear Campaign?

What happened to balanced reporting? When did posting *four (4) isolated ‘archive’ photos taken after the rains by a photojournalist instructed get ‘dirt’ by his editor* suffice for a story about ‘failure to deliver’? *One would have expected a full documentary if the editors* were hoping to dim the sterling record of the people’s Governor at work. The *‘fake news’ by third-rate Nation correspondents* can’t reverse the gains made since Governor Sonko took office.

The *Daily Nation’s smear campaign against Governor Sonko is falling flat on its face* because there is nothing to discredit where the record of achievements speak for itself. Truth is *even in Karen, after the rains, the roads are full of mud and dirt* and someone has to clear it. If Daily Nation wanted to *tell Nairobi Residents about county roads, they should have at least began by showcasing the roads that have been constructed and repaired* since Governor Sonko took office.

You have to be *petty to cite mud carried into an isolated road like Moi Lane* by storm water as evidence that a Governor who is overworking has not delivered. *If Nation Media Group was a responsible corporate citizen, it would have financed the road repairs and landscaping of Moi lane, next to Nation Centre.* Daily Nation should have reported the correct position that *the murk on the road was after Nairobi County Team opened the sewage system on the lane* which is now undergoing scheduled repairs.

If Daily Nation had any regard for balanced reporting, they would have taken the pains to give credit where it is due. *The editors can start by highlighting at least a few of the over hundred achievements of Governor Sonko in the last 8 months in office.* One would also have hoped today’s story would note how *Kimathi Street has been squeaking clean since Governor Sonko took office.* Well, truth is *Daily Nation is trying to intimidate Governor Sonko after he instructed his lawyers to sue them for defamation,* but we feel insulted that they expect us to believe their smear campaign.
