While campaigning for ODM in Molo in 2012, Governor Nanok surprised locals after he switched to Gikuyu and he was very fluent in it. His Excellency Nanok is also fluent in Luyha, Kisii and Luo. His Swahili ofcourse is Excellent.
The Nairobi University graduate, I later learnt was born and brought up in Supuli Laikipia, his dad used to operate a butchery at Supili town.
By the way, if there’s a community that is “wide spread” apart from Gikuyus, it is the Turkanas. And, they get along very well with their hosts.
