IEBC and Jubilee obsession with a second alternative manual mode of electioneering reveals a lot of detail as regards the pre-rigging plans of the 2017 elections. BVR never failed in Ghana or Nigeria. Only in Kenya.
Why are Jubilee preempting the breakdown of technology during the 2017 elections? Are they planning to make sure BVRs and EVID fail again so that we resort to manual voting and tallying so as to implement their rigging plans? What’s the rationale for opposing full use of technology in the election?
For starters, the contracting of the KPMG to undertake the voter register audit is part of the intricate scheme to alter the Election Laws Amendment Act. It is a carefully planned multipronged assault to subvert the constitution and to undermine the will of the majority of Kenyans.
We can well predict that KPMG, after ‘auditing’ the register, will write a report which certifies the names in the multiple manual registers containing the ‘2.0m’ ghost voters that gave Uhuru Kenyatta first round win in 2013. KPMG is notorious for wading into controversial issues. KPMG has been used as a tool for the system and maintenance of the status quo. We saw it in the Mumias Audit and more recently in the Safaricom corruption audit.
In approving IEBCs fake register that even the supreme court did not see and a register rhat has never been officially gazetted, KPMG will ultimately give these two million ghost voters legitimacy. KPMG will simply be saying that YES, up to two million voters went to polling station and only voted for Uhuru in presidential elections, tore up ballots for other positions, and walked out of the polling station. Uhuru will then have been re-elected for second term even before we go for 2017 elections.
1) CORD and all Kenyans of goodwill should demand a new register as opposed to an audit of a fraudulent register that IEBC has never made public.
2) CORD should also demand that KPMG and its directors to focus on its professional corporate calling and to keep off Kenyan politics. KPMG will otherwise be held to account for chaos that they are intent on formenting. Bear in mind no company with a global reputation to maintain would want to expose themselves to such reputation risk.
3)After executing above, focus on parliament and mobilise members to oppose the belated attempt to amend the election laws.
While on that, politicians should not be shouting at rallies berating Jubilee and Isaak Hassan.
Instead, involve civil society and plan a mass civic education that does not rely on the equally compromised mainstream media.
Provide a simple blow by blow account of what transpired in 2013 and the deal that was recently agreed upon. Remind Kenyans Uhuru was handed state power by a suprement court that was heavily intimidated by the system. Resurect Kethi Kilonzo’s famous video evidence in court.
Also highlight on how the present scheme by Uhuru is to repeat the same 2013 strategy which is to ensure electronic systems failure and introduction of unveriefied manual register to once again facilitate the use the list of non-legit voters not in the BVR which was the two million ghost voters that have never been unaccounted for. CORD must not allow this to happen.
Uhuru Kenyatta must fall!
