DEMOS TO PILE MORE PRESSURE ON STATE TO ARREST THOSE BEHIND THE ATTACK OF GOVERNOR RUTO.

RESIDENTS of Bomet County yesterday continued with a series of peaceful demonstrations across the county to protest last weekend’s incident where an Administration Policeman threw teargas canister directly on Governor Isaac Ruto at Silibwet stadium inflicting serious injuries on his face.

The residents have turned out in large numbers across all the Six Sub Counties to condemn the incident that has shocked the nation.

They accused the police and Bomet County Commissioner Benard Leparmarai for taking the attack on Governor Ruto casually in an attempt to cover up the matter.

Speaking today at Embomos in Konoin, the locals piled pressure on Internal Security CS Joseph Nkaissery to transfer Leparmarai from Bomet and order for the arrest of the AP who threw teargas canister on the governor.

Led by Youth leaders Vincent Too and CCM chairman Nahason Korir, the demonstrators said they will not rest until the county Commissioner is transfered and the policeman behind the attack is brought to book.

Other peaceful demonstrations were held in kapkwen and Silibwet while residents of Longisa will hold a mega demo tomorrow.
