The family of DJ Evolve, who was shot and seriously wounded by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, has opposed the release of the lawmaker on bond/bail.
In a probation report filed at a Milimani court before Chief magistrate Francis Andayi on Monday, Evolve says he does not want to talk about the issue.
“I am in pain, I am tired and traumatized. I don’t want to talk and I cannot fathom anything. I have not slept for days because I am scared of my life and future,” Evolve said.
Additionally in the bail assessment report presented in court on Monday, the family says it is majorly concerned about the security of their son and that of other family members.
It is the family’s view that Babu Owino “wields a lot of power and may use the same to subvert justice.”
“Their plea to the court is that if the same is granted, other protective measures should be instituted to ensure the security of the victim, family and also to safeguard against witness interference,” reads part of the report.
Last week, Babu was charged with the attempted murder of Felix Odhiambo, popularly known as DJ Evolve, at B-club.
CCTV footage from the club showed Babu drawing his gun and shooting a man.
