Intelligence reaching us indicate that a prominent Western Kenya leader, working with unnamed politicians from outside Western, not aligned to CORD and suspected to be heavily financed by Jubilee, has spent the better part of the last three days hiring buses and trucks full of people from as far as Khayega and Kibigori with the intention to use them to cause disturbances at Moses Wetang’ula presidential launch later today.

The ODM strongly condemns these plans and completely disassociates itself from these illegal and potentially harmful designs. Sources from the party indicate that it is already in liaison with the police and security authorities as well as the office of the Governor of Kakamega County to ensure peace and tranquillity prevails at this rally.

On Tuesday, CORD principals met and approved the convention of a public rally at Masinde Muliro Gardens in Kakamega town next Saturday, 2nd April 2017 where Senator Moses Wetangula is scheduled to unveil his 2017 presidential campaign.

It was further confirmed that today’s rally would be CORD affair convened by joint coalition convenors Senators James Orengo (ODM), Johnstone Muthama (Wiper) and Hon Dr Simiyu Eseli (Ford Kenya).
Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya will be todays host.
