Most Kenyans approve of President Uhuru’s handling of the country according to the polls released today by Ipsos Synovate.
The President’s approval rating hit an all time high of 90% even as public service nears total collapse. Imagine!
“Whatever doubts may exist about his commitment to fighting corruption and the efficacy of his government’s efforts, at the personal level the President enjoyed massive approval at the time of the survey (75%). As noted above, this was just after the official visit of U.S. President Obama, apparently taken by most Kenyans to mean the country would now enjoy the ‘best of both words’, with positive/beneficial relations with both of the two countries now viewed as critical for Kenya’s economic, security and political development/needs (i.e., the U.S. and China; see Ipsos’ previous release on this and related issues)”, reveals Ipsos.
Even shocking, the pollster alleges that more CORD supporters ‘have confidence’ in President Uhuru’s fight against corruption than his own jubilee supporters, raising doubts as to the veracity of these polls. Some have openly accused Synovate, formerly Steadman, of cooking the polls.
“Moreover, while the massive approval of his performance by his own Jubilee supporters is perhaps to be expected (90%), even a majority of CORD supporters give him a ‘thumbs-up’ (56%)”, alleges Ipsos.
