The defence team of Deputy President William Samoei Ruto yesterday snubbed a meeting with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who ended up meeting the defence team of journalist Joshua Arap Sang.
Ruto’s lawyers were said to have chickened out of meeting with the MP who has revealed he participated in coaching witnesses to fix the Deputy President when he was an ODM leader.
Kuria was a PNU activist who was seconded to work at Kibaki Tena re-election secretariat by Uhuru Kenyatta, then leading KANU party, an affiliate of PNU.
PNU has however distanced itself from claims by Kuria that it acted on its behalf. The party claims at no time was it asked to procure witnesses for any commission that was formed after the violence.
“At no time was PNU or any of its officials ever requested or required to procure and or to provide witnesses by either of the commissions, or any other body or person, before, during or after the [Waki Commission] hearings,†the party stated in a press release.
