LATEST UPDATE on ODM Nominations in Taita Taveta, Nakuru and Kajiado Counties

PRESS RELEASE
TAITA TAVETA COUNTY PRIMARIES
The National Elections Board of the ODM Party has received the report of the Returning Officer Taita Taveta County on the exercise that was held yesterday Tuesday 18 April 2017.

In the report, the Returning Officer states that the exercise did not take place in five polling stations in Taveta Constituency due to the heavy downpour that made it impossible for people and motor vehicles to access the polling stations, making it difficult for the officials to take election material to the stations.

The five polling stations are Jipe Primary School, Chala Primary School, Mahandakini Primary School, St. Joseph Kivukoni Primary School and Chala-Njukini Primary School.

In order to allow party members registered in the five polling stations to exercise their democratic right, the Board has ordered the exercise be done on Saturday 22nd April 2017.

In this regard, results of the exercise in the entire County have been put on hold until after the exercise in the five polling stations is done and votes counted.

Meanwhile, the Board has ordered that the nominations exercise for the position of Member of the National Assembly in Nakuru Town West Constituency be held on Monday 24th April 2017 as well as St. Monica Polling Station in Kitengela Ward where the exercise did not take place due to interference with ballot papers.

Hon. Judith Pareno
Chairperson-National Elections Board
19th April 2017
