Governor Sonko Donates Sh1m to Kawangware post-election victims

Date:

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has made good his promise to victims of Kawangware post-election violence by donating KSh 1m towards their aid.

Through the Kameme FM charity initiative dubbed “Restoring Hope” Sonko donated his contribution towards the Kawangware victim in cash to ensure the victims of the violence who are both NASA and Jubilee supporters are resettled in their torched houses shops.

Those who wish to donate towards the initiative can send their contributions to Pay Bill account number 101101 with their name as the Account number.

Three people were last week killed and dozens injured after chaos broke out in Kawangware, following a clash between armed rival youth.

The pro-Jubilee group clashed with NASA supporters who were reportedly protesting police brutality in the area. During the clashes anti-riot police officers engaged in running battles with the youth on Friday, October 27 in a bid to calm the situation.

The youth burned stalls, looted shops and houses during the Friday evening chaos.
