BREAKING: IG of Police Boinnet to be SUED for KILLING Peaceful protestors in Kisumu

Date:

Cord will move to court on Tuesday to start legal proceedings against IG Joseph Boinnet over the killing of two protesters in Kisumu demos.

Siaya Senator James Orengo said they will sue Boinnet so that he is “held personally responsible for the killing of peaceful protesters by police”.

Dennis Onyango, Cord leader Raila Odinga’s personal assistant, reported this via Facebook on Monday.

An Opposition official said at least two demonstrators were killed in the county.

Police had fired into the air to break up a crowd trying to march to the electoral body’s office in the county, one witness told Reuters.

There was no immediate police comment on the reported deaths.

But a witness said a man’s body was lying on Oginga Odinga Street, and had a bullet wound in his chest.

Protesters carried the body from the vicinity of Imperial hotel and dumped it on the street.

One other person who was critically injured was rushed to Kisumu district hospital with a bullet wound in the stomach.
