In a highly publicized breakfast meeting to welcome our Beijing heroes and heroines at the KICC, outgoing AK chairman Isaaih Kiplagat has alleged that running in Kenya will end in the next ten years if communities continued to inter-marry!
His theory which is not backed by any scientific research postulates that if men and women from counties genetically endowed with running skills marry from tribes which are less endowed to run, this will slowly slow runners in the running regions and, in his words, there will be no runner in the region in the next decade or so!
The AK Chair further shocked Kenyans when he alleged that Kenyans may be forced to rely on ‘genetically modified’ athletes and urged stakeholders to think of refined training methods and facilities in order to win in future because raw talent will have been eroded through inter-tribal marriage.
His comments come at a time when he is winding his controversial term that has seen a number of our Athletes banned from running for engaging in the use of performance enhancing stimulants.
Athletes have been on the forefront of championing for his removal to bring in a new and dynamic leadership. An association of Professional athletes called PAAK has been vocal in demanding for the removal of the Prophet from the helm of AK.
It remains to be seen whether Prophet Isaiah’s Prophesy will come to pass ten years from now. All we have to do is pray that this never comes to pass.
Congratulation to TeamKenya for jointly bringing medals without caring about the origin of your mothers.
