This is KIDRI polling station where voting in the ongoing ODM nominations is being done outside at an open veranda and the rain is just about to strike, this will not end well as voting will be disrupted and petitions will follow. To avert the situation NEB should take action immediately and secure a room to host the polling centre.
Meanwhile voters have been asked to shun tribalism and vote individuals on merit and loyal to the party. As voter ensure NOT to elect a 5 piece suit from your tribe. In Areas where one tribe dominates its fair that they be generous enough to look beyond tribe.
For example in Dagoreti North as much as we expect Hon Arati to win, the Gusii community should be generous and fair to look for merit and vote other tribes for positions of MCAs in the constituency. We expect that they will vote Luyha MCA, this will help consolidate ODM vote come August since Jubilee as nominated a Luyha -nominated senator Hon Elachi. For ODM to win this seat in August, they need all Luyha votes thus the Gusii people should go for MCAs who can add value to Simba Arati’s final tally in August.
In Kibra, we expect that a Luo MP will be elected BUT the majority tribe should also be fair and geneous enough to vote MCAs from other tribes on merit- we have Nubia, Kikuyu,Kisii and Luyha in the constituency.
In Langata a constituency that covers the rich neighbourhood of Karen all the way to Mombasa Road South C, we expect a non Luo MP, its fair that we dont dominate in all constituencies and in all positions. a non Luo MP backed by majority Luo/Kisii/Masai MCAs will be a winner combination come August 8th. we must look beyond this nominations and know that Jubilee have given the ticket to a Kalenjin and there shall be no Kikuyu in the ballot. We need all NASA supporters vote for an ODM MP come August, that will only be possible if they select a mix . Non Luo MP, and LUO/KISII/SOMALI MCAs…
In Westlands its expected that Hon Tim Wanyonyi will retain his seat and therefore its fair that Luyha community in the constituency looks beyond tribe and vote merit in MCAs positions in the constituency.
In Makandara we expect a Luo/Luyha MP but for a strong combination that will ensure super voter turnout in August we expect Kamba MCAs to be nominated . In Embakasi Sumra should be re-elected and the rest is a contest between mainly Luyha, Luo and Kisii. Voters should go for a mix of merit and not just one tribe.
