Uhuru’s decision to cancel Meru and Tharaka Nithi trip for Western Kenya has angered residents of the two counties. Speaking to the media on Monday, a section of residents claimed Jubilee does not value them despite having voted for the government in 2013.

The residents said it is time they consider NASA which looks more concerned with their welfare than the government. “Tukisema tu hakika, government ya Uhuru hakuna kitu imefanyia watu wa Meru (Honestly the government of Uhuru has done nothing to the Meru people),” one resident said.

Another added: “Uhuru anakuja kutuambia tuchukue kura tumchague tena. Tunamchagua tumepata nini kwake? Tangu tumchague tunamwona Mombasa kila siku (Uhuru tells us to register and elect him again. What has done to us? Since we elected him he has only been visiting Mombasa).”

“Its okey, not the first time, Uhuru has done development in Opposition zones than here in Meru, all he does is launch mega projects in Central and Western, when will he reward Meru, I think we were used”- Abel Muthembei told this writer.
