Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko has ordered the arrest and prosecution of Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu for hate speech and incitement to violence.

The DPP’s statement read in part :”This is therefore to advise that you (police) cause prompt action to be taken to ensure that all those found to have been involved including Hon Waititu are immediately apprehended and brought to justice,” .
Internal Security Minister Katoo ole Metito at apress conference in his office condemned Waititu’s statements and that government will take action “As a government, we shall not hesitate to take action against any persons who incites incites the public to violence, irrespective of their position or status in society,”
Hon Waititu seemed to have been carried by emotion while protesting the killing of a street boy by a watchmen (believed to be Maasai) in his constituency, the Nairobi governor aspirant appeared to incite the public against the Masai community living in the area. The inciting remarks were made in the presence of police including the Embakasi police boss.
Meanwhile leaders continue to condemn Water assistant minister for his incitement remarks, those who have condemed Waititu include Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Hon Joseph Nkaserry
