Former Naivasha Mp John Mututho has found a new (political) lifeline after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed him the Chairman of Nacada, the country’s drugs control body.
The former Naivasha lawmaker is credited? for creating sanity? in the alcohol world.
“I appoint John Mututho the chairman of Nacada board for a period of three years”. Mututho replaces Dr Frank Njenga whose five year term has elapsed.
He promised to zealously go after drug abusers, saying drugs have turned kenyans into ‘zombies’.
Elsewhere, in an appointment that will likely cause a rift between the president and parliament, President Kenyatta nominated Kiragu wa Magochi as the Teachers Service Commission Chairman. Kiragu had been rejected by Mps after he was first nominated by the President. The interviewing panel had picked Dr Maria Nzomo of the Kenya Institute of Education, KIE, but apparently the mandarins at OTP had settled on ‘one of their own’.
Now you know.
