Raila’s CORD to address Press on fate of JAILED Blogger Dikembe Disembe

Raila’s CORD to address Press on fate of JAILED Blogger Dikembe Disembe

July 26, 2014

Finally the CORD coalition leadership is waking up to reality that lead blogger Dikembe Disembe is in jail and may continue to rot in jail unless they take drastic measures.

Blogger Dikembe Disembe who for more than two years has dedicated his time to defend Raila Odinga and his CORD coalition online was remanded yesterday by Nairobi Magistrate Ms Nderitu after he failed to raise the punitive Kshs 2 million cash bail.

CORD MPs are set to meet at Serena Hotel today at 12pm then proceed to Industrial Area Remand Prison to visit the remanded blogger. A short statement sent to Newsrooms by ODM communications director Phil Etale read thus;

CORD MPs to meet at Serena Hotel today at 12pm and then proceed to Industrial Area Remand Prison to visit remanded blogger Seth Okoth aka Dikembe Disembe. Kindly find time to provide coverage. P. Etale

It is expected that the MPs will condemn the highly punitive bail terms set by the magistrate and will also highlight steps the coalition will take to secure the release the blog mogul.

”Dikembe has a massive online following and that why he was the target of the jubilee regime, trust me nobody will come for you if you have no content- in the blog world CONTENT IS KING and Dikembe got content” noted columnist Janet Mwikali-White.

”CORD should halt all the referendum campaigns to sort the issue of Dikembe first, they must know that online campaigns is very critical to the success of referendum. The youth being told to send 100 bob are demotivated, be assured that they will not support the coalition if the matter of Dikembe is not handled well” added Joel Orwenyo
