Supporters of ODM Party Leader and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have reacted with fury over revelations that besieged Public Accounts Chair Ababu Namwamba secretly recorded a private conversation he had with Raila Odinga.
The news has shocked Odinga’s supporters as they see it as a breach of trust and utterly disrespectful to the Odinga. In a meeting between Odinga and Namwamba, also attended by Nakuru West ODM MP Samuel Arama, Ababu secretly video taped the conversation which he has already released to Daily Nation journalists.
Ababu threatens he intends to go public with the video recording whose contents contain a discussion on corruption allegations bedevilling his Public Accounts Committee of parliament.
““The recordings will exonerate me. Starting this week, I’m going on an offensive aided by the truth. I have not been supported to a good extent by my party leader or Mr Moses Wetang’ula (Cord co-principal) as many media outlets have been reporting.â€
Whatever the contents of the conversation the three leaders engaged in, supporters find it odd that Mr. Namwamba had the ‘courage’ to record the talk secretly. It puts to question the character of the ODM Secretary General and how he handles private information.
Many people are wondering how many such conversations he has leaked to third parties and whether he can be trusted to keep the strategy of the Orange party from leaking to its enemies as the official custodian of the party’s instruments of power.
