Meru governor went on one on one with area youths at a village public square where he answered tough questions and even at one singled out a constituent for direct response.

Watch the debate , very interesting. We will shortly get a translation to English.

An aide of Gov. Munya has since made the following clarification:

A CORRECT VERSION OF EVENTS AT GOVERNOR’S ATHIRU RALLY.

Clarifications on misunderstanding on the video clip uploaded by baite tv.

1.The man with the microphone (he wants to vie for a MCA seat in 2017) was given a opportunity to address the public gathering in good faith by the sub- county administrator who acted as the MC.

2. Governor Munya was listening to him keenly.

3. Suddenly towards the end of his speech,he verbally attacks the current area MCA who was also sitting in the dais.

4. Jeering between the two camps starts and gets out of hand. The emcee is seen trying to unsuccessfully grab the mic from the aspiring MCA.

5.Governor Munya is still watching the unfolding events calmly from his seat.

6.The aspiring MCA continues to spew vitriol as jeering and cheering continue.

7.The crowd around the dais shift their eyes to Governor Munya, symbolically asking him to offer guidance.

8.Governor Munya steps in to calm the tempers, after he has started speaking the crowd calms down.

9.Abruptly three guys, visibly intoxicated starts shouting again.

Governor Peter Munya remains faithful to the letter and the spirit of devolution as anchored in the constitution.
