Troubles of Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi multiplied today after his village mates chased him like a dog for daring the peoples’ president Raila Odinga to kick him out of ODM party following his recent trip to DP Ruto’s Sugoi home. During the visit the delegates accompanying Hon Maangi were allegedly given brown envelopes with only Kshs 2000 tucked in.
The Bomachoge residents told hon Maangi off and even asked him to get a wife first before imagining that he can lead the Gusii community to nonsensical Jubilee Party.
The visit to Sugoi seem to be of little impact among the the Gusii community, normally the community elects leaders notwithstanding their political parties but for presidential vote it a known fact that Prime Minister Raila has support of at least 85% of the community’s voters and here is why this is likely to hold through to 2017/18:
1. Retired Gusii community ‘Supreme Leader’ Hon Semion Nyachae and his underlings will never deliver for anyone the gusii vote. Nyachae and his family are a hated lot in Gusii especially among the youth. As such even Charles Nyachae will find it a hard task to win even MCA seat in kisii county.
2. IDP resettlement and reimbursement: The fact that other communities especially those from mt Kenya and Rift Valley (Mau forest evictees) were settled on land bought by the government and given shs 400,000 to build homes while the Gusii IDPs only got kshs 10,000 is an issue that rings fury over the community and often directed heavily at Jubilee regime
3. Devolution: the county of kisii has made the Omogusii prouder (arrogant natrally). The county is undertaking major security infrastructure away from the national media eye. Its puting up a modern Radiology lab at Kisii Level5 hospital with the help of GE and Siemens, one that rivals KNH. The county is putting up a cancer centre which will be second to KNH. difference will be the KIsii one will not be malfunctioning everyday like the KNH machines!
4. The Gusii people hate none more than whoever takes them for fools. They will ask you “igo kwandorora buna inche nembori gose engombe etamanyeti korengereria?” Hon Maangi by going to Sugoi dug his own political grave just like Hon Nyachae did by siding with kibaki during the disputed 2007 Presidential elections.
You can bank this in any bank, from our sources in the villages, ‪PM Raila has the Gusii on his side. Uhuruto bungled it by short chaging the community, most Gusii professionals lost jobs due to tribal frustrations by Uhuru regime.
