My mother, Monica Akeyo Amolo was a very special person, although we felt her special attributes as a mother, she was also an outstanding leader in society and a committed civil rights activist who believed in Women’s empowerment. She was a solid and life member of the ODM Party, and a firm trustee of its values and principles under the leadership of Rt Hon.Raila Odinga.
On behalf of the family of the late Hon.Monica Amolo, and my own behalf, I wish to thank the fraternity of leaders and her former party colleagues for their unwavering support to our family during mama’s sudden death and the events thereafter. In particular we sincerely thank the members of Homa Bay County Assembly who stood with us during this very very painful period, we were and still consoled by the love poured upon the family and the material support.
Our special appreciation also goes to the Homa Bay County Government under the stewardship of Hon. Cyprian Awiti, the Homa Bay county ODM branch as well as all the overall membership and follower- ship of the Orange Democratic Movement Party.
The burial of mama on 22-2-2015 became a sterling celebration of her legacy and love. We sincerely thank all those Kenyans and friends who joined us in Ndhiwa on her final journey.
Finally, we wish to extend our distinct appreciation to the Party Leader, Rt Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga for his strong show of support to us during this time. All we can now do is to continue to work for the good cause of the Party and ensure that the great aspirations of mama is realized.
