It’s COMPLICATED for Uhuru as SIX Masai MPs set to Decamp to ODM over TRIBAL Appointments

Six MPs on Friday threatened to lead the Maasai community into withdrawing support for Jubilee.

They said several Maasais have been sacked from government jobs in the past year.

The MPs addressed the press at Parliament Buildings. On Satuday Laikipia North (a Masai) told Uhuru to his face that he will defend his seat on ODM ticket and that he will be supporting Raila Odinga since that is the wish of his constituents.

Kajiado West MP Moses ole Sakuda said: “When our people are sacked, the positions are given to people from other communities like the Kikuyus and Kalenjins. Why can’t they give us back the positions?” as reported by the Star

He was accompanied by MPs Ken Kiloku (Narok East), Patrick Ntutu (Narok West) and senators Peter Mositet (Kajiado), Henry ole Ndiema (Trans Nzoia), and Stephen ole Ntutu (Narok)

Sakuda said the sacking of former NHIF chief executive Simeon ole Kirgotty was a betrayal.

“The next general election is not far,” he said.

“As leaders, the electorate are looking up to us.”

Mositet said the firing of two former PSs – John Konchellah (East Africa Community) and Joseph Tiampati (ICT) – was not taken well.

The two were dropped during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet reshuffle in November last year.

Mositet said Jubilee should address their concerns or the community will support a different party.
