ODM, the most popular political party in Kenya has postponed Nairobi County grassroot party elections that was scheduled for 13th and 14th September 2015.
In a brief statement sent out to newsrooms and party stalwarts the National Elections Board says new dates will be announced soon.
The NEB has been trying to cool down tensions among supporters of former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa and Westlands MP Hon Wanyonyi. The other headache for party members is the flooding of Kidero‘coins’.
An ODM insider summarised the cause of the dillema into four factors (Aladwa the bully, Kidero money, Wanyonyi loyalist and Rummour peddlers mis-advising party bosses)
Here is the text from NEB.
The Nairobi County Elections scheduled for September 13th & 14th 2015 have been postponed.
NEB will advise a new date.
This is to allow adequate time for disputes to be resolved.
Hon. Judith Pareno
Chair – NEB
