There was drama at Dagoretti High School grounds when parents attending a fundraiser at the school forced the area MP hon Dennis Waweru to cut short his speech, the MP had made wild claims that Nairobi senator Mike Sonko Mbuvi’s Sonko Rescue Team was funded by drug money.
Hon Waweru found himself in trouble as his constituents openly supported Senator Sonko’s SCR projects, telling Hon Waweru to instead write to DPP for due process. 60% of Dagorretti constituents are slum dwellers whom may have benefited from Sonko Rescue Services. The parents confirmed Sonko had helped some of need students from the area with school fees even though he doesn’t control the CDF kitty.
Hon Waweru had warned area residents against supporting Sonko Rescue Team and seemed to read from Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero’s script that Senator Sonko was creating a parallel Nairobi county government illegally. Gov Kidero has since order seizure of Sonko Rescue Team saying they don’t have pre-requisite permits to operate in the city.
Hon Waweru has been linked to the Maina Kamanda led Mt Kenya group that is keen on blocking Sonko from becoming the Nairobi governor and also want to send Kidero packing. Senator Sonko was not at the meeting and the heckling appeared to be spontaneous forcing Waweru to promptly warm is seat.
Ho. Waweru had questioned the source of Sonko’s money, he urged Senator Sonko to support Kidero for Nairobi to develop. The Parents were of the opinion that Sonko’s initiative should also be supported as it was a practical proactive way to support the need.

Diminic, clearly you’re not very smart. “The money doesn’t affect the common ones?” Who do you think will pay when Nairobi develops a drug problem? Who do you think will pay when drug violence takes root in the country? Who do you think will pay when the Kenyan passport is shunned like the Nigerian one because the country is awash with drug barons? It’s just a catastrophe that a country can be so doomed because its people refuse to think and instead justify crime in exchange for handouts, which they can very well earn on their own simply by cleaning up the kind of leaders they elect.
