Will they lose Ruto to the ICC, the DP position, Land Reforms and Devolution all at the same time?
FIRSTLY, In 2008, most mt Kenya leaders portrayed Ruto as a BUTCHER and someone who should be charged with genocide and vowed a revenge on him. At the same time it was Mungiki under the orders of the some mt Kenya leaders, who carried out the butchering especially in Naivasha, Limuru and parts of Kibera.
It is on record that mt Kenya elites (read Muteo Iringo, Martha Karua and Nancy Gitau) were involved either directly or indirectly in procuring witnesses for the ICC. Other top bureaucrats even couched PNU operatives to be ICC witnesses against Ruto and some even confessed of the same. In 2012/13 Ruto became an angel to mt Kenya elite because they wanted to use him to rig Uhuru in as President.
I wonder how Ruto became so gullible to believe their all over a sudden love and friendship, at Serena talks the main protagonists were Martha Karua and William Ruto. It is said that when the deal is too good, think twice, and that is what Ruto failed to do, he failed to think twice, he got carried away.
The intention of mt Kenya elites was to fix him at the Hague (revenge). Picture this, TNA organised some of their MPs to accompany Ruto to the Hague and sing his farewell songs like a sheep being taken to the slaughter house, on the other hand they (TNA) vowed not to allow Uhuru to fly to the Hague by blocking all roads and flooding JKIA. Why massively escort Ruto to the Hague?.
SECONDLY, Real reforms and especially Land Reforms has gone to the drains for sure….this has been the main bone of contention in the Rift Valley. The Kalenjin really did not do themselves a favor at all by voting jubilee…time will tell…they just allowed the hyena to take care of the goats. Lets pray that we don’t witness another tribal clashes related to land in the near future, as it seems no proper land reforms is in Jubilee plans, especially in the Rift Valley.
THIRDLY, Had Kalenjins played strategic politics, they could have all rallied behind Isaac Ruto’s call for real and proper devolution. They are the ones making the loudest noise against devolution simply because WSR is the DP. What if the Mt Kenya Mafia succeed in fixing him and Hague takes him away for 5years, will that be the time Kalenjins will realize they’ve made a mistake and start fighting again for devolution? I wish they listened to Isaac Ruto’s voice of reason and supported devolution for their own good and not be against it for the good of a few in the political class.
FOUTHY, WSR has never been an insider like Mudavadi or Gideon Moi and for sure we have seen in several occasions how the insiders are not comfortable with him being the DP. They for sure would prefer Musalia or Gideon to be in his position. This has been evident with the frequent visits of Musalia to State house when Ruto was not present in the country and also Ruto’s conspicuous absence at the meetings between Uhuru and Moi.
Even when the UN was approached to do away with their cases he was not consulted about it, when they leaked his jet saga, when they allowed his land case to carry on and was fined Kshs 5million etc etc.
FIFTHLY, NSIS denied Ruto access to intelligence that could have helped him with his ICC cases while Uhuru was given full access. Uhuru therefore succeeded in eliminating witnesses against him while Ruto’s and Sang’s witnesses remain intact. They have also taken away all his responsibilities, budget and all appointments.
As they say where I come from, Regrets never come first, they come later… Is this the time Ruto core supporters are going to learn the most bitter lesson in their lives and start being true Kenyans who stand up for the rights and the good of all?. Time will tell if they will be the biggest losers or not, and that time is not so far away!
