By Comrade Albert Nyakundi Amenya
In my previous articles, I have thrown critical brickbats on Governor Ongwae’s performance until he turned over a new leaf to start directing the people’s money to the right projects. In recent days, I have heard the great people of Gusiiland propose the CIC chairman – who by chance, happens to be my great friend – for the Kisii gubernatorial come 2017.
Albeit I esteem their sentiments, I also bear contrary implacable opinion to the same. So far, Governor Ongwae has proven to be a consummate servant of the people. With some of the profound projects underway in Kisii County, Ongwae has undisguisedly confirmed that he is ready to serve the people.
I agree that Nyachae might, although sluggishly, exude some prowess in oratory especially when addressing press conferences. Nonetheless, that does not translate to service delivery. Myself being one of the senior journalists in this great country, I have probed into Nyachae’s job designation and I can confirm that Nyachae’s office is peradventure, the product of the constitution.
So far, the sophisticated people of Kisii County owe Ongwae and his team a huge debt of gratitude for the projects he has launched. By Kicking Governor Ongwae out in 2017 elections, the people of Kisii County will be writing a developmental epitaph on the tomb of progress.
During the penultimate year when he had just taken over at the helm of Kisii leadership, I initially berated his capability as a governor until two years later when he has confirmed that we were impatient on him. My fellow motherland-mates, Governor Ongwae has proved to be a resolute leader and he only needs a second term to complete the good work he started.
While other governors are busily building their stomach infrastructures, our own is exuberantly committed to ensure our county grows above the rest. Judging by his impregnable development so far, he is gradually externalizing what he said before the elections.
