I feel pity for Meru people supporting jubilee, and i keep wondering whether meru people we have sank that low. Uhuru came in 2012 and begged us to vote for him to save him from being jailed by ICC. We sympathised with him and adopted him as our son, brother and mundu wa nyumba.
When Uhuru became president he ababdoned us. Our miraa was banned in the whole of europe. He never gave us any presidential appointment, each appointment went to either a kikuyu or a kalenjin. For the entire 4 years he never commissioned even a single govt project .
In February 2017, he came back to meru and told us to register as voters, and when we asked him what he has brought for the community or what projects he has done for us , he insulted us. The song Uhuru must go began at maili tatu , and to revenge, he ordered his security to beat people. Todate, many women and men in Maua, Laare, Kaelo, Maili tatu and Kangeta are nursing scars and wounds from the wrath of muthamaki.
When Raila came to Meru, we saw a saviour. He promised to handle all our miraa issues within 90 days of his government. Todate, a motion to lift the ban on miraa is on the floor of the Tanzanian parliament after Raila requested Magufuli to lift the ban. He promised to give our people employment and he began with one James Bond the guy who hang on his chopper. Today all members of his family are employed.
Our people named key centres in Meru as kisumu ndogo, siaya, kogelo and so on . And when Raila visits meru its celebration everywhere. Uhuru since that day has not even come to say sorry. He said he will get our votes since we have no choice.
Recently Uhuru went to Isiolo , and his crooked behaviour was the same. People are nursing wounds inflicted by muthamakis security people after they told him they are hungry and instead of giving them food or atleast the mexico maize, they were given rungus and tear gas. Every time i hear a person from my county meru praising this muthamaki i feel like vomitting. Ni kama amerogwa kana i kiaa hakuna macho wala maskio na hakijui mambo vile yanaendelea.
