It’s demeaning to office of the president that the PSCU as department that is effectively run by civil servants paid from public coffers/ living off tax payers, has presently taken it to involve itself in political rhetoric under the guise defending the serious shortcomings of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
It should gravelly concern all Kenyans that the PSCU has today, in their usual hurried and thoughtless responses, once again released a hollow statement not to justify their existence but to exchange with an official opposition party. In the process, the PSCU pulled the office of the president deeper into murk with undiplomatic language, laced with half truths, filthy distortions and extremely condescending attitude not expected from state officials who are supposedly serving all Kenyans equally irrespective of political affiliation.
This unfortunate statement repeatedly made reference to funerals of Kenyans painfully executed in insecure environment within our country borders like the Mandera massacre victims who are yet to be buried, and whose death the government has yet to satisfactorily explains to a apprehensive public.
Sadly, the PSCU rubs in the anguish on bereaved families by failing to distinguish official state roles from political party activism. In the end, no one can tell if they are employed by the state to work for TNA and URP, which does not understand any circumstances justify hurling insults at innocent civilians killed by terrorists or their bereaved families.
If the president needed any further proof that this disgraceful department is a liability to his office and an embarrassment to all Kenyans, their latest statement purportedly in response to ODM is more than enough.
