Standard Newspaper Under Fire over Customized Regional Headlines

Standard Newspaper Under Fire over Customized Regional Headlines

NATIONAL NEWSPAPERS should have same headlines across the country. Post-Election violence happens when people’s realities are not the same.

Swathes of this country are today reading how Uhuru has smelt victory. On another part of this country, millions more are reading of Raila’s victory. Same country, reading same newspapers, making very extreme and totally contradictory conclusions.

What stops either side from violently contesting the outcome, if already each side has been prepared for victory?

Newspapers cause violence. Media in Kenya learnt nothing of 2007.
