After indicating that he would step aside, Senator Sonko has changed tune and now asking the speaker to be granted ‘leave of absence’ from senate. Sonko wants to step aside from senate duties without stepping aside as a senator. This is not only unprecedented for elected leaders but also silly.
According to blogger Dikembe Disembe, the gameplan of the Jubilee regime is to hoodwink unsuspecting leaders and the general populace  that they are fighting corruption by targeting their members which only acts as a smokescreen to condemn the opposition leaders they badly want to curtail.
Dikembe believes Jubilee is fighting governors in the same fashion it hunted down opposition bloggers on fictitious charges of hate-speech where it first arrested pro-establishment activist Moses Kuria before dropping on opposition activists.
“This episode unfolds in the most chereographed manner that you don’t need to have been to school to see it. All of a sudden, those not listed in this so called list of shame are being arrested by EACC detectives. It reminds me of the fictitious hate-speech charges on Moses Kuria which only ushered witch-hunt and systemic prosecution of opposition leaning bloggers,” said Dikembe.
