It has been a poorly kept secret, but Senator Charles Keter, a close associate of DP Ruto has pulled the cat out of the bag. That there shall not be any William Ruto running for president in 2017, and Rift Valley should brace themselves to support President Uhuru in 2017 for another term.
In other words, Senator Keter is saying DP Ruto’s 10-year quest for presidency – which is why URP was formed and why ODM was rejected – is huge fallacy and charade, meant only to lock in votes for purposes of political bargaining.
What’s more and do not forget this; that while Uhuru’s case at the ICC is reportedly on its final kicks nearing dismissal, that of DP Ruto, which carried a lesser charge, looks increasingly credible, driven by false evidence of NSI witnesses recruited by Mutea Iringo and Nancy Gitau, both of whom have been retained, promoted and continue to be protected by the very same government that URP claims is 50% their own. Its laughable but equally a case attracting deep sympathy.
While DP Ruto supporters get apprehensive, none other than DP Ruto himself as asked the Rift Valley voters to reject any calls for a referendum to strengthen or protect devolution; a process through which the poor masses and peasants get to decide how to utilize their own resources. The same ones they are being denied now!
The revelation by hon Keter will actually push the Rift Valley masses to vote for the referendum as they cannot wait for ten years for development, they have seen how public appointments have been carried out and will not risk for the next 8 years. The only hope for Rift Valley is devolution.
