I lack words to describe the Holy Father Francis for the manner he carries himself with humility in the midst of the affluence of the Holy See.
Believe me, the only man who deserves to walk around like a peacock because of the wealth around him is the Pope of the Catholic church. The church is one of the rich institutions in the world to the extent that it owns its own rich bank called Banca Catholica in Rome.
Yet the Pope chooses to trod the narrow path of humility and compassion in solidarity with the poor masses of the world.
In his message to the Kenyan leadership, he has strongly reminded them of the need to uphold the values of integrity, honesty and equity in service to humanity.
In so doing, the Pope sought to teach the leaders by example by riding in a 1300cc Honda which was dwarfed by President Uhuru’s Monster machines!
His most powerful message to the nation was that we must strive to hand over a clean environment to our children.
His message comes at an opportune time when we have witnessed repulsive spending in government in the midst of a suffering population. This must come to an end. We cannot afford to waste resources when our hospitals lack basic facilities such as dialysis machines. It is sad to note that sometimes patients die as they wait for services in our hospitals.
That is why I applaud President Magufuli for locking all channels of Public resource waste in Tanzania.
President Uhuru should draw lessons from Magufuli’s example.
@pontifex Karibu Kenya as you minister unto the hard souls of our leaders.
