OKOA KENYA BILL MUST BE LAUNCHED AS SOON AS YESTERDAY
By Orengo Kenya
My brother Hesbon Omollo has joined those calling for the Postponement of the Okoa Kenya Movement bill launch tomorrow so that we can mourn and grieve with Garissa University. The issues i have with this line of thinking include:
What was the intention of #OkoaKenya in the Beginning? I thought the intention was the save Kenya from these Kind of things, more so insecurity in Kenya.
How can we postpone a the launch of a framework that will institutionalize a lasting solution to the problem of insecurity that has now caused more than 500 deaths from the time Jubilee came to power?
How can we stop an ambulance and firefighters from going to pick up an injured and wounded nation. Why do we want to insist on piecemeal solutions like illegally training corruptly recruited police officers against a court order at the expense of a comprehensive solution to save Kenya from the york of Insecurity?
#OkoaKenya launch must go and and should actually have been done yesterday so that the process of saving our nation can come soonest. The earlier we launch this bill for Kenyans to debate it the better
The other problem with this line of thought is that it confirms the undemocratic attempts by Jubilee to dictate to the opposition how to and not behave in their opposition role, Raila Odinga has condemned the acts and even visited the victims, as a serious opposition leader and a Kenyan of Good will, his role now moves to bringing a lasting solution to the insecurity issue and not sit there with the victims and cry on his laps like Uhuru Kenyatta and team want him to.
Raila and CORD must now move with speed and #OkoaKenya from the bondage and threat of insecurity through the launch of this Bill.
At Least #OkoaKenya is doing something legal about Insecurity in Kenya
