Nyong’o’s transformative 10-point agenda for change in Kisumu County

July 28, 2017 Leave a Comment

Kisumu Senator and ODM’s Kisumu Gubernatorial Aspirant Prof Peter Anyang Nyong’o while launching his Manifesto enumerated his 10 point agenda which geared towards making Kisumu begin to fly with the eagles and stop walking with the chicken as has happened in the last five years under the County government.

The central focus of his manifesto is to create jobs through sustainable developments in agriculture, industry and the service sectors.

His agenda aims at putting the youth and women at the centre of inclusive development, with clear plans to achieve the following:

I. Revitalize agriculture for food security and agribusiness;

II. Ensure a healthy population living in a clean environment;

III. Build modern physical infrastructure;

IV. Promote skills development and innovation;

V. Conserve the environment while opening the Kisumu lakefront for business;

VI. Provide decent housing in inclusive towns, semi-urban centres and villages;

VII. Promote sports, culture and the arts;

VIII. Promote industrialization and a vibrant service sector, supported by sustainable energy sources and information and communication technologies;

IX. Promote tourism driven by culture and heritage as well as new products;

X. Deepen the structures of devolved governance and strengthen revenue generation and accountability in use of public funds.

Prof Nyong’o remains to be the surest bet for Kisumu Gubernatorial seat, a proven doer, global think tank, Devolution champion and above all strict on all Components of Governance.
