Big buttock he has, bar-talk he does.
Madness in his articles he displays, shoddiness betrays his standing,
A master of deceit he is, all in pursuit of fame,
Only the ignorant can buy his big fat ego.
It saddens this writer that ever since he deserted the ODM secretariat, he has resorted to all manner of gymnastics to remain relevant.
Of course he credits his fortunes, wealth and stature to his prior association with Kenya’s most revered political operative Raila Odinga. Raila offered him a platform for fame, and opportunity to network with the high and mighty.
Signs that he has been sidelined by the Uhuru inner circle are manifestly evident. Upon sensing that the Raila camp had been successfully rigged out, Ngunjiri Wambugu(a wonna be wheeler dealer) guided by his stomach rather than conscience, immediately sought to join the “winning team”.
However signs that he had been rejected started becoming too ominous. Dejected he made it look as though he was scouting for a new party. Rejected by Jubilee affiliates, he sought to piggyback himself into KANU, a party he believed would emerge as a key player within Jubilee. Turns out this was a miscalculation, and the left winger turned the fat man of Kenya’s political right, has slowly been sinking deeper into oblivion.
Patrick Gathaara was soon being groomed by the Star to re-invigorate the Monday publication whose ratings were nosediving, consistent with Ngunjiri’s dwindling stature. With Raila fanatics having kept off the Monday issue, and with Ngunjiri’s ratings at its lowest ebb among readers on a free fall, the idea of bringing the intellectually honest and consistent Patrick Gathara was mooted by Star top brass.
Ngunjiri’s intellectual dishonesty and inconsistencies have been so annoying that complaints galore have been piling up and flooding the intray of the Star Public Editor. At this rate, he may face the fate of his fellow roguish tribesman and NYS consultant Mr. Mutahi Ngunyi who was kicked out of the Daily Nation because of giving predictions that never came to pass.
In the July 27, 2015 the Star; Ngunjiri’s all too obvious lack of security understanding prompted him to imagine that the Obama beasts/fleet moving around Nairobi or the “bad-ass” secret service lady who opened the door for Auma Obama was all a PR show. Tell that to the birds.
Ngunjiri should ask those in the know. US secret service isnt Utumishi kwa wote.
The secret service while in Nairobi didn’t have time to show off Obama’s motorcade, but were just in their element doing what makes US security operations exceptional. Obama motorcade was driven around Nairobi as a rehearsal to make sure all the T’s were crossed, and I’s dotted, to minimize the chances of any mishap, while also familiarizing themselves with the routes. Whether its the smallest town Police Department in Alaska Drills to LAPD/NYPD, drills upon drills are a cornerstone of US Security operations, and they are key in creating a sense of teamwork. Its never about working hard, but working smart, with everyone having their roles cut out, and clear, with each agent around Obama having their sector of protection. They don’t just gaze in the air, but have each area covered ensuring 360 degree coverage. What does Ngunjiri know, really, about security? Ask if you don’t know, otherwise you risk exposing your ignorance.
Bragging as a PR consultant, Ngunjiri claimed in the Star that it was a PR exercise. The lady who opened the door for Auma was too serious because she is so patriotic and wouldn’t play with the business of protecting POTUS. That lady and American servicemen have swore to defend and protect the American people to whom she has been assigned to. And unlike Kenyan security people, they take that very very seriously. We all remember how a mad man got close to hurting the Prime Minister of Kenya Raila Odinga in Kwale last year. because his security detail thought they were ornaments of politicians, who aren’t just there to beautify dignitaries.
Ngunjiri should desist from trivializing serious matters of securing the world’s most powerful man, by making it look like the Voodoo Matsanga like PR charades that he offers as services to low cadre Jubilee politicians. Ngunjiri doesn’t know shit. Ask and you will be taught, clueless. Stick to your lane.
Ngunjiri needs to understand that Kenya like the CNN said has degenerated into one of the most dangerous and dreaded places in the world. That is why Obama only restricted himself to a small area of Nairobi, between the JKIA and Westlands/Gigiri. He never left Nairobi, and lives were disrupted because even Thika Road was closed when he went to KU, yet he flew there. That’s not PR. It is security Ops!
The narcissistic Ngunjiri a isalso at pains that he is sidelined from Uhuru PR machine. Of course, why would he be consulted, when he mishandled the Raila PR machine as ODM Political Affairs Director? He obersves thus; “One of my pet peeves with #TeamUhuru is their lack of effective political communications around Uhuru’s substantial achievements. I hope they have learnt something from watching #TeamObama in action”. Ngunjiri is an untrustworthy failure, who cannot be trusted as he has showed that he can betray, with the slightest of enticement. This is a man of no convictions who doesn’t stand for shit!
Ngunjiri is Kenya’s most distrusted writer who has a penchant for flipflopping, he has actually been all over the place on all issues. Wambugu portrayed himself as a liberal, under the aegis of Kikuyus for Change, but then takes an about-turn as soon as Uhuru was declared President elect under controversial circumstances. And not even that, he is a well known plagiarist who lifts ideas from face-book postings and makes them part of his articles, as if they were his own. He called for prosecution of Uhuru, and even cheered, but now pretends to be the number one defender of Uhuruto, because they wield power. Conman. What he did to Raila he can do to UhuRuto. Betrayal.
This flip-flopper hoped to be a powerful CS or operative had the tallying process been honest and sincere in a Raila led government. Ngunjiri actually raised questions during the tallying process, in which he said that “the gap between Raila and Uhuru seems to stay the same, which is atypical of a random process, where one person should surge forward, then gap widens, then narrows, like it would be in a haphazard process where results trickle in from numerous polling stations”. And so one wonders why Ngunjiri suddenly did an about turn into an Uhuru hardliner who believes that Uhuru won. And doesn’t stop there, but is very rogue in putting that point across.
Conscientious Kenyans, remain hopeful, as chuma chake ki motoni. Once the level headed Patrick Gathaara gets established, Kenyans will have a break from Ngunjiri’s misleading tirades that have been sickening and nauseous to them.
