Open Letter to Musalia Mudavadi

Hi Son of Mudamba,

The first week of December was a melodramatic week, with stampedes unprecedented in Kenyan History.

It was a day that you threw Peter Kenneth and his groupies under the bus, when kernels of corn were lined up for you in a wavy line, leading you up to the other 2 mini-projects- URP and TNA.

It was a week that the mini-projects crafted months ago were consolidated into one super project as prophesied by Cyrus of Lugari.

The stewards of the mini-projects, made a promise, and you have kept the small promises. Tuesday is when you will keep the big promise.

Just when UDF/TNA had unveiled their “bridge project to victory”, the broad based Railonzo pact unveiled in front of a sea of humanity shattered the bridge made of sand into a bridge to nowhere.

Uhuru and Ruto strategists could not ignore the echoes of revolution in the making that inundated the entire news-sphere and blogosphere.

Like feather weighed against stones, the scales were tilted heavily in CORD’s favor.

And since you just need a few stones to tilt the balance in favor of CORD, the feather weights called WSR+ UK felt inadequate.

It soon dawned on Uhuru that without the The Mudavadian Abracadabra, they didn’t have any plausible path to victory. The URP+TNA math to victory didn’t seem to add up.

Desperate, Uhuru crafted a plan that he needed to enlist one more rower in addition to the ready and willing rower, who is very eager to graduate from the hustler’s lot- WSR.

That is how I hear you were recruited into the “army of 3”- comprising of 2 rowers, and the would be King- Uhuru. Rumor has it that Ruto and you are “Rower designates”. Here comes the problem.

Uhuru and you- born with the silver spoon in their mouths- were raised to be rowed not to row. But 2 can’t be King, and so you demanded to duel for “would be King Slot” on December 18th and the loser would automatically join Ruto the Rower No. 1 and you the Rower No. 2. What a shrewd deal!

Ruto- the sly carrier of the hustler’s flag- was sure; a hustler should lock in his rower number. Rowing the “would be King”, he felt was a sure way of moving out of hustler’s lot. No gambles.

And when, 40 TNA affiliated MPs mutinied. I thought they were just doing Uhuru’s bid. It’s called reverse psychology. It is a game that lays groundwork for saying “Hey look, I really want to support you, but look my soldiers will mutiny. So why not you withdraw?”  Don’t be cheated. That is what’s happening here.

Uhuru wants you and Ruto to row him across the river. But you could humbly ask him to swim across.

However, the gunners are pointing towards you. You cannot be a quitter or deserter, you would be “court marshaled” if you do.

Recall, someone compared your odyssey to the Ingokho stew making process? Bado wanachill  for you to be made “ingokho stew”. December 18, is D-Day- if you get “stewed”, they will be deemed as prophets. If you turn the tables on Uhuru, they would be deemed false prophets. Two options “stew” or the last man standing.

If Ingokho stew prevails, your options are limited Mr. DPM.  The gods would have conspired to make sure that you accept a lopsided arrangement that favors Uhuru and Ruto. You are a cornered man. Doomed if you do, and damned if you don’t.

People see in the Jubilee Super-Tuesday, an “ingokho stew” tasting ceremony. The kernels of corn sprinkled from months ago would have led you to what one politician called “Kasarani imekuwa Kichinjio “destination.

If Kasarani becomes Kisirani your only options would either be to play third fiddle to Uhuru or play fourth fiddle to Raila Odinga or go solo and spoil.

Kisirani is the fate of those whose only plan A, B and C is to be made president, rather than campaign to be president.

Kichinjio is what I am afraid will happen to those in the race with only a conformative and conservative agenda devoid of any reformative or transformative credentials.

Those who like tick want to fatten on other people’s blood. Like lazy bones, they roll on other people’s sweat. Sadistically, they want to benefit from other people’s ICC judicial misery and predicament.

Mudavadi am also concerned that you have a consistency of knee jerk reaction during crisis situations.

When faced with a similar situation in 2002 and “stew” prevailed, I expected you to spend the last 10 years preparing yourself adequately for an exact similar situation in 2012.

So do we expect you to be in an exact spot in 2022? That is why, in you, I see a panicky indecisive man who displays a predictable behavior.

Now my heart to heart to you, what makes masses rally behind a leader, are issues, the dramatic agenda that they represent. You cannot be- like the proverbial hyena- all over the place. It will break your groin.

That is why Uhuru’s relevance rose exponentially when he became an ICC suspect. So did Ruto. They now lead the “movement of the outlaws”- rebellion against The West while Raila espouses the Reform brand.

That is how they are frontrunners in the fight for election as president, while you lead in the fight for coronation as president.

That’s why you have to fast find your own space that is salient to Mudavadi. If ICC became a horse-worth agenda, then in Kenya that issue can be anything. It doesn’t have to mean anything, just something dramatic and headlines-worthy.
