Here is the amazing and very moving tribute by Jesca Kiplagat wife of the late KDF Major and Pilot Sammy Morrell who died after KDF HUGES MD500 Helicopter crush landed in Bargoni army camp in Lamu County in coastal Kenya.

It was reported that the MD-500 combat helicopter was returning from an operation. The helicopter developed mechanical problems when it was landing. It crashed and burned after the pilot lost control.

May God rest major Morrell’s soul in eternal peace

My Hubby Sammy Morrell.

I met you on Friday 29/11/2003. We sat together in a matatu headed to Kapsowar. At first we were strangers but as fate had it, our mutual feelings for each other made you take the first move to talk to me and of course the rest was history. When u alighted at cheptongei u promised to come and look for me in Kapsowar.

Since phone communications were not there those days, I knew you would never find me again. But the love u had for me made u cross mountains and valleys to look for me. On 1/12/2003, u came to Kapsowar to find your love. I remember u used my friends to get me and yes where there is a will there is a way. U were able find me. U promised me your genuine love. As you went back to your work, with no phone communications I knew it could be hard for us but we still kept our love alive through letters.

On 23/06/2005, it was our happiest moment as we made our dreams come true and yes we were married. As your duty calls, I remember we didn’t even go for honeymoon as you were required to be in Isiolo. As a couple, the best gift we could give each other was love, care and understanding. As a soldier’s wife, love understanding was key. I remember in a year, you could be home for barely two weeks. You were a energetic and hardworking person.

We were blessed with master Duncan Kiptoo on 9/03/2007. He is young to understand why u had to leave us. We loved u but God loved u the most. U left a legacy and We promise to keep it alive.

Morrell was a young, energetic and focused man. At 33 years he had gone up the ranks to become a Major in the army and a qualified pilot instructor. He had big dreams and I was sure he was headed for greatness.

Morrell was a loving hubby and daddy. He loved people, he had many friends. He was a genuine example of a gentleman. He ‘ll forever be irreplaceable.

Morrel has left to be with the Lord. He has fought the fight he has kept the faith. He died in the line of duty protecting this nation. I have lost a hubby, we had lost a daddy, this country has lost a hero.

Forever you will be missed, forever you will remain in our hearts. May Your Soul Rest In Eternal Peace. We ‘ll always LOVE YOU.

One word for this beautiful and strong lady please>>>
