CORD candidate for the Bungoma by election Moses Wetangula yesterday responded to recent incessant attacks by UDF leader Musalia Mudavadi on the cord coaltion leadership including former prime minister Raila Odinga and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
“I am not interested in engaging Mr. Mudavadi in proxy wars because he is not in my political calibre and doesn’t play in my league whatsoever, ” said Wetangula.
Mr Wetangula is campaigning to recapture the senate seat he lost through a successful petition by Hon Musikari Kombo.
Mudavadi accused former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who campaigned in the region for Hon Wetangula as working against ‘Luhya unity’ by accusing him of being a project of the Jubilee government.
Wetangula chose to respond to Mudavadi who has increased his attacks on the CORD coalition principals, including VP Kalonzo Musyoka
“Mr. Mudavadi has employed a tact of using his reckless and permanently inebriated Personal Assistant who seems to be ever drunk on substance to hurl insults at the people he imagines to be his political enemies including me,” said Wetangula.
“Who in this country doesn’t know that Mr. Mudavadi is a man who has been spoon-fed all the years in his now dwindling political career?” asked the former minority leader in senate.
“These desperate acts of a frustrated and failed politician will not find him any favour from the people of Kenya, no matter how much he tries to throw mud at me,” added Wetangula.
Other contestants for the Bungoma senatorial seat includes journalist David Makali.
