I was trudging in my bloody neighborhoods when I received an eerie call from a friend informing me that that Moses Kuria is the newly unelected Member of Parliament for Gatundu South constituency following the withdrawal of Kamere from the race. I know, I know, we are not supposed to pay attention to Moses Kuria, the man who won a by-election against himself. But alas! A story this big, this consequential, needs dramatis personae of dramatic personalities.
So, let me offer Kuria a brief respite from the spotlight, and pretend his motives of becoming a Member of Parliament for Gatundu South are either pure or of little consequence, and instead, turn my gaze toward the Jubilee’s grandstanding politicians demanding that our hero be left alone and the attention refocused to them. Importantly, one thing is for sure, tyrants don’t change their stripes.
The people from Gatundu South have made one of the most expensive mistakes in the history of politics. Benjamin Franklin was one of the founding fathers of the United States and he also doubled as an exceptional polymath who opined a range of countless quotes. In one of his thoughtful quotes, he said that “Admiration is the daughter of ignoranceâ€
I know the people of Gatundu South must have a representative in Parliament. I also countenance the fact that the pieces of advice I am proffering them might be inconsequential, invalid or even mere picayune complaints to a certain class. Surprisingly, ¾ of Kiambu residents belong to the 3rd world class albeit they are hoodwinked to defend the 1st world and their problems.
I am aware of the fact that a good number of Kiambu residents have declared ominously that they are not in love with Kuria’s character. At the same time, there is reliable rumor that Kamere was coerced to withdraw his candidature since he was headed for victory, something that could blemish the already sullied presidents’ reputation.
Kuria’s character through the social media has disquieted even the wisest men in the country. He is one of the bloodthirstiest stumblebums around. The hate message communicated by him on his social media accounts underscores the fact that his character must not be underestimated. Kuria is evidently pretentious and he knows no clemency.
Lastly, I would like to commiserate the people of Kiambu County for their pending jeremiad for allowing their wisdom to be washed away by the unnecessary and preventable tempest.
