Moses Kuria should be arrested and prosecuted with immediate effect…hate speech is evil!
By Dr Njenga Solomon
If what we have seen in the media is anything to go by, it’s therefore prudent to conclude that Moses Kuria is the new face of Militia. His verbal constipation is a clear tell. He has disguised himself as the “Jubilee Head of Militia 2017â€.
The controversial hate speech advocate who also doubles up as Gatundu South Member of Parliament has done it again! Though not new to this “hate speech politicsâ€, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee government have continued to rally and use him as their spokesman after campaigning for him to be the Gatundu South Member of Parliament. Their intention was to use Moses Kuria as a spanner boy to humiliate ODM.
Hon Kuria has now assumed the role of head of militia, a sub-wing of the ruling government in matters of infiltrating political temperatures. Indeed, many have postulated this comeback of hooligans with a comeback of the dreaded Mungiki. Its illegal in Kenya for anyone to demonstrate on the street with weapons of destructions! This is
exactly what Kuria has done.
Slowly, Mungiki is creeping back but this time, in broad daylight! We have Kuria who seem to have been protected by Mungiki to lead a demonstration of young and old and threaten anyone who dares to oppose NYS, Waiguru and/or Monicah Juma. This to me is juvenile backward and retrogressive politics. No one should be allowed to throw words anyhowly and in broad day light and threaten Kenyans while carrying light and heavy weapons of “mass destructionâ€.
The long hand of the law should be employed. Civil societies in Kenya, people of good will and indeed the Orange Democratic Movement top brass have raised this as a great concern and I support them! Their argument is that Mr Kuria seems to have the audacity of uttering “words of death†in the pretext that he is enjoying immunity and impunity by being the President’s Member of Parliament, being from the ruling coalition and being an associate of the President, who recently tasked him to mobilize MPs to support the nomination of Dr Monica Juma to a slot in the Cabinet. We call upon the president to take action and demand an immediate investigation and arrest of Moses Kuria.
This trend digs a lot of painful emotions that Kenyans would love to forget! In 1992, in the wake of multiparty democracy in Kenya, young men and women were recruited to humiliate the opposition and this proved bloody. The YK92 gave birth to a lethal Mungiki – a group of youths who caused mayhem in a bloody take over, with indications that their mentor – -then a senior Kanu official, who is also in the Jubilee government spearheaded the 2007-2008 election chaos.
By the support of the government Mungiki is believed to have caused a lot of suffering and death to innocent Kenyans. This dangerous trend seems to have come back. Moses Kuria and company are the new face of the emerging battalion of impunity who seem to closely work with youths to create fear ahead of 2017 election. Indeed, it’s indeed true that Kuria need to be reminded and warned that he is trading on a dangerous business. This is another “business of deathâ€. This mentality of Kuria and company is total impunity
and a false sense of immunity. Indeed, no community, no one group must think that it has the monopoly of violence or that it has immunity to mislead this peace loving country-Kenya. Kenyas should stand up in oneness and condemn this trend with strongest way possible. Indeed all Kenyans are bonafide members of this country and no one who is a sojourner.
We call upon President Uhuru Kenya, the head of state and the chief custodian of our constitution to demand an immediate arrest and prosecution of one Moses Kuria. This Kenya is ours and nobody can snatch it from us (nobody can tunya us†even Mungiki cannot!
