Media busy with government Propaganda

Media busy with government Propaganda

September 2, 2014

By Matubai
It cannot pass unnoticed the push by the leading media houses in Kenya continue pushing for the agenda of the JUBILEE government.

How can 8.3 billion shillings disappear like that without tangible answers, was the money stolen? What was the purpose of the transfer of such huge sum of money especially during the transition time?

Who is responsible and what action has been taken? These are some of the question that our media has failed to ask, rather they are busy covering the president and the deputy on issues that are not beneficial to the common mwananchi, it is now apparent that the leading media houses have to splash either the picture of the president or the deputy on a daily basis of each of the first page of the newspapers.

The extreme use of media was perfected by retired president Moi during his reign, every Sunday, KBC will air first Moi in Kabarak for a Sunday service.

This was a great propaganda used very well by Moi and now Uhuru Kenyatta is perfecting it, using the so called independent Kenya media, they will put the deputy president in the standard newspaper and in Nation newspaper they will put Uhuru’s picture attached to a report that sometimes is not related.

Instead of asking tough questions, the Kenya media has become the mouth piece of the Jubilee government, its time Kenyans realize that and look for an alternative means of getting news.

In America, the CNN, the MSNBC.FOX are losing audience because they are accused of not reporting news but pushing for certain talking points, less people trust what the news media report, same thing will soon happen in Kenya if the trend continues. Let them be less agenda driven like that of JUBILEE agenda and focus more on accurate source of news, like where the 8.3 billion went to, and who should be held responsible.
