I hear all Jubilee leaders converged at STATE HOUSE where Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto led in formally merging 8 parties to form the Jubilee Party. The event included all Governors senators, MPs and Speakers of county assemblies.
This is an awesome strategic political move. My query however, is why the top Jubilee leadership settled on STATE HOUSE and not any other venue yet this wasn’t a government event but a private political event. Meals and drinks must have been served to the large congregation of which I fear might have been covered using public funds.
If my memory serves me right, I don’t recall any instance when Narc or PNU ever held their National Governing Council meetings at State House of Kenya during Kibaki regime. Not even all powerful Kanu could hold their NGC meetings at the house on the hill during Moi regime. What is different now? Impunity?
There’s a huge difference between the Presidency and Uhuru Kenyatta as a person. The latter must respect the former. Entirely.
In today’s event Uhuru led Jubilee talks as a top Jubilee honcho and not the President of the Republic of Kenya .. And as such, Statehouse as the choice of the Jubilee meeting was ill advised, against the law, misplaced and full of impunity.
Here is what the President Posted on his Facebook:>>>
Deputy President and I today convened Jubilee party’s first Interim National Governing Council meeting at Statehouse, Nairobi. The meeting was attended by the Jubilee governors, deputy governors, the members of parliament and the senate and the county assemblies were represented by their speakers and the majority leaders.
This was the final meeting following months of consultation in which most important matters and affairs of the new party formed the agenda. The essence of creating one national party is to unite the Nation and all Kenyans and cure the past politics of division and ethnic based mobilization.
