If I was her advisor, I would give Princess Anne a simple advice;
Go to Kirinyaga and launch your political career! Your days in public service are over. By the time you were let go, the presidents family, close associates and big money backers had cut you loose. You won’t get a soft landing. Not even in the next regime.
The next president will come from a small pool of Raila, Ruto, Kalonzo and Wetangula. We can even throw in Kingwa Kamenchu for your comfort. None of them will give you a job. So the civil service for you is over!
Even in politics, TNA/Jubilee will not give you a ticket! Remember the troubles of Mary Wambui in Othaya? Your mistake was that you brought both the president’s family and the presidency to disrepute by holding on too long and trying to draw the president into your troubles.
When the president said in Eldoret that you were going nowhere, that’s when we knew you were finished! In the English Premier League (which you can now watch, with time in your hands), when the club owner tells the press he has full confidence in his under fire manager, it is usually the sign that the game is up for the manager.
Go home and join Martha Karua’s Narc Kenya. It is your only come back route. By tomorrow, most of the powerful people you knew in government won’t pick your calls. Or when they do, they will ask “Anne who?”. Familiarise yourself with the stories of people like Prof Phillip Mbithi. You will know how power is like a condom. Everybody goes to the dispenser (hehehe) for a fresh one, but nobody gives the used one a second look! Forgive me for the condom analogy, I couldn’t escape that one!
And finally, remember you are a witness, and things tend to happen to witnesses in our land! In your privileged position, you might have seen or done things that will make powerful people anxious……
