ZANU-PF warns Zimbabweans posting or tweeting photo of Mugabe’s FREE FALL in Harare will be prosecuted

ZANU-PF warns Zimbabweans posting or tweeting photo of Mugabe’s FREE FALL in Harare will be prosecuted

February 5, 2015

After successful AU trip during which Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe missed a stair step and fell down in a function at the capital Harare,  ZANU-PF, his ruling party, is doing everything to keep the incident out of media circulation.

Save for foreign journalists who quickly changed their tapes, local journalists have been banned from publishing the photos from the incident and the general population of Zimbabweans have been warned of possible prosecution should their share the images on social media.

The long serving Zimbabwe leader, who celebrates his 91st birthday this later this month, was elected AU Chairman in just concluded AU summit in Ethiopia.

Despite the caveat put to Zimbabweans in sharing – posting of tweeting – the photos of the ‘free fall’, the world was however spared. Kenyans and other nationals have created media buzz by massively sharing the photo. Here is a video captured of the incident.
