Why judge may set free Naivasha bloodsucker Njoroge Matheri

June 26, 2015 Leave a Comment

Njoroge Matheri, alias ‘Fongo’, the suspected serial killer also known as the “Naivasha vampire” could be released from prison as prosecution grapples with lack of witnesses.

A total of six witnesses in his case are yet to take stand. Three are said to be in Mombasa while the other three are untraceable.

Justice Maureen Odera stated that the evidence must be produced before a court date on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in order for the case to continue.

The “Naivasha Vampire” is currently on trial for the murder of Miriam Wairimu in the Naivasha slum of Kihoto in 2008.

In 2011 Matheri was sentenced to four years in jail for kidnapping after the police failed to produce evidence on rape charges, The Standard reports.

Matheri was arrested in 2008 after allegedly kidnapping two women and draining and drinking their blood.
