URP MPs plan MASS RALLIES as Kalenjins DEMAND return of Kiplimo Rugut to NYS

URP MPs plan MASS RALLIES as Kalenjins DEMAND return of Kiplimo Rugut to NYS

May 14, 2014

The sacking of former NYS Director Kiplimo Rugut from the helm of the National Youth Service has attracted the ire of Kalenjin leaders who now demand the man be given his job back.

Several charged rallies are planned for North Rift region – Deputy President William Ruto’s strongest hold – in what has already rattled both Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Callers in the powerful Kass FM spent the better part of yesterday warning DP Ruto over his perceived ‘coolness’ even as members of his community are axed from top government positions and systematically replaced by Kikuyus, their erstwhile partner in the jubilee alliance.

Yesterday, Rift Valley MPs led by outspoken Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter and his colleagues William Cheptumo (Baringo North), Julius Melly (Tinderet) and Elisha Busienei (Turbo), Samuel Moroto (Kapenguria) insisted that the removal of Rugut was prompted by the urge by a section of leaders to engage in corrupt dealings.

It has now been confirmed that Rugut was fired via text message from the cabinet CS Anne Waiguru.
