Uhuru’s top sycophant one Mr Wainaina is a bitter man, he just realised that his master values politicians much more than any other professionals (teachers, doctors, hawkers etc), here is his latest rant. Slowly Jubilee supporters are getting to understand that Uhuru owes them NOTHING!
By G Wainaina
Uhuru Kenyatta’S Administration has squandered a Golden opportunity to be a government for the people. And for the people I mean a government that listens and proactively addresses the issues that disturbs the bulk majority of its hardworking poor and middleclass Citizenry.
In Kenya today Doctors, teachers, policemen and Nurses are paid measly salaries… They are paid that Not because we do not have the money to competitively remunerate them but because in Kenya we do not value their Jobs. Its that simple!
Yes we value the Jobs of Politicians, and that is why a newly created seat of MCA goes home with more than Half a Million Shillings a Month. We value Politicians More than we value the People who mold us into what we are. We value the Politician more than we value the Person we go to when we fall sick. That is why in Kenya a Member of Parliament is happy to go home with more than a Million a Month without any input from SRC but will want a teacher whose wage increment has been ordered by the Court to go through SRC.
We value the Politicians very much and that is why ex-councillors have petitioned the senate to to get some 18 Billion Shillings as gratuity and we find nothing wrong with that. Believe you me from the look of things the money to pay ex- councilors will be found while teachers will be on strike.
In Kenya today there is a saying that if you want to be rich get into politics. A business man is far much likely to die poor in Kenya than a politician. But In stable and developed economies they say public service is not for those who want to get rich.
I had hoped Uhuru Kenyatta would assume the responsibility of addressing this inequality that we have in Kenya head on! I do not know whether this inequality disturbs him . Playing tough on teachers and soft on politicians on matters wages is a clear testament that it doesn’t.
Our wage bill is high, yes very high But that can be sorted by eliminating waste and graft in the entire public service. That will be eliminated when we cure the disease of excess government that we erroneously adopted in our constitution. Yes we have excess goverment and too many politicians to feed! But we have shortage of Teachers, Doctors and policemen.
Mr. President our wage bill will not be cured by disobeying a Court Order!. Living within the rule of Law means doing all that we can possibly do to respect the Law. The consequences of disobeying a court order are too dire to contemplate.
If I was given the option Choosing between the welfare of
Category One-Teacher, Doctor Policeman and Category Two-Politician
I would die with category One.
