Is Uhuru PREPARING to deal with 2017 POST ELECTION MESS?

March 2, 2016 Leave a Comment

President Uhuru directs hiring of 10,000 police. Uhuru readying for 2017 post election mess. He wants to prepare for chemotherapy and radiotherapy, instead of preventing the cancer-figuratively speaking!.

IEBC reconstitution is a hot potato, and yet 3 more Supreme Court judges are under investigation, which brings to 4(including Tunoi) the judges under investigation. This may mean we don’t have a a functional supreme court by next August, to preside for any presidential petition- we are basically staring at a possible constitutional crisis ever!

The credibility of institutions that conferred Uhuru legitimacy are in tatters, which means they may be bypassed in 2017, because the public has no faith in them.

And Uhuru seems more focused on militarizing the Kenya Police to enhance their capacity to deal with street protests in the event of a contested and non-transparent election, instead of attending to the heart of the matter, which is credibility of the electoral bodies, like IEBC and the Judiciary. But does Uhuru have the moral high ground to bring sanity to these institutions?
